With Split Screen you can open several series next to each other and compare them. The series can be from the same study or from different studies.

Open two series side by side

  1. Open the images, so that the series are listed in the DICOM browser.
  2. Click the Split Screen button on the Layout toolbar and choose the layout 1x2. The layouts are also in the View menu under Split Screen.
  3. Hold down the Ctrl key and click an image from the second series in the DICOM browser. You can also right-click the image and click Add in Split Screen.

A layout is written as rows x columns: 1x2 shows two panels side by side and 2x1 shows one panel above the other. There are layouts up to 2x5. Choose 1x1 to return to a single panel.

Open all series of the patient

Right-click in the DICOM browser and click Open All Patient Series, or press F4. Every series is opened in its own panel.

Synchronize the panels

The panels can follow each other by slice position, by zoom and pan, and by windowing. Switch each of them on or off in the View menu under Synchronization. The images must be from the same or a similar plane.

To change one panel only, hold the Alt key while you scroll, zoom or change the window. Synchronization continues when you release the key.

Cross-reference lines

When series from different planes are open in Split Screen, for example axial and sagittal, reference lines on the other panels show the position of the image in the active panel.
